I guess I'm talking about platform change here. It just seems to be a very long gap not to really progress technically. What I was hoping to see was a large leap in perfomance to match what we are seeing in CPUs.

To be quite honest, Creamware chocked my musical aspirations several years ago ...

Has Creamware done anything new

Just wondering if Creamware ever designed any new hardware since 2002/2001. I recall they were looking into faster clockspeed DSP processors back then.

Is the platform dead?

No Creamware supported forum anymore.

I believe Awave will do the conversion for you (www.fmjsoft.com).

If someone knows of a program that will convert the old Akai MPC3000 disket files, please let me know.

Cheers,

Unfortunately for me, and I claim to be no expert, I haven't liked any reverb I've come accross since I heard the top of the line Lexicon at a demo (about 10,000 pounds. My mind doesn't work with figures that big very well, so excuse me if I'm out a couple of thousand). The demonstration team ...

Thanks to Martin, I did a search on some key words (Jean-Marc Jot, Moorer, Schroeder) and came up with a whole list of papers and circuit diagrams on reverbs. Here is a quote which seems to capture the essence of a reverb:

Analysis and synthesis of room reverberation based on a.. - Jean-Marc Jot ...

Gigastrings seem to be amazing.

Also, thankyou for the Northern Sounds web site. Are these samples good?

The prices for a complete set of orchestral instruments seems to be a little out of my budget at the moment. It's a pity there isn't a high quality all-in-one approach.

I want to have a large ...

Mostly to SubHuman

Hi,

my understanding of what modulation comprises of is:
- chorus
- flanger
- phaser

Is this the extent of what you need on a per-instrument basis, or is there other neat stuff? Generally, what other extreme modification can you do?

Myself, I'm kind of in the middle. I'm ...

Does gigasampler play akai samples too?

I like the idea of having lots of instruments 'on tap'.

Regarding sound libraries. Has anyone heard of Miroslav (I'm not sure how it's spelled). I'm not sure where to look with regard to sample libraries. I haven't found anyone who stocks any kind of range ...

Well thankyou for the answers... it seems that I don't need a second PC, but I'm a little confused. Is there a verdict on why one should use the STS4000 v's, the EXS24, or gigasampler.

The main issues seem to be:
- timing isn't tight on any of the samplers (STS4000, EXS24, or gigasampler)
- there ...

Thanks,

though I have tried cable swaping previously, this time I tested the O1V AGAIN... and it worked. It must have been dust.

This is a relief. I thought that I may have burned out my card due to overclocking the CPU.

Has anyone a solution for the following...

I'd like to set up a second PC as a sampler (the first PC being the sequencer). I was thinking of using the STS4000. I believe that the STS4000 can handle 64 voices? How can you send enough midi information to access all of these voices? The obvious ...

Hi people,

I've got an O1V connected to my Pulsar via ADAT. The problem occurs when I sync word clocks via ADAT, but not when I sync via s/p-dif.

I don't rember this being a problem in the past. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Steven
