Similar position here. I was holding out for a base spec 2GHz+ (dual core?) G5.
http://www.gigadesigns.com/ currently has a G4 model at this speed as well as dual 1.8 cards.
This could be a good option until the transition sorts itself out, especially if the used market softens up a bit.

The MRC is nice for saving a little screen space and I also like the instant preset swapping of m3. I guess it is a lot of work for instability though, especially it seems when adding or changing modules. Hopefully this will be fixed some time, perhaps with extra controllers for the remote ...
