Re: pci sxpansion
Whoa, this is very exciting. I've been theorizing a Scope + console system recently, possibly a Allan Heath ZED R-16 (or rather the GS-R24 :S), interconnecting the console via ADAT and a A16U (24 I/O). Possibly also snoozing at a ADK Pro Audio 9000 laptop. But whatever new computer upgrade the PCI ...

Re: STS and windows RAM access
delay compensation only happens in playback. it has nothing to do with realtime. 8 ms because the midi signal goes to the sequencer to trigger the vsti at the same latency as the audio driver. then the sound is generated and is heard after the audio driver latency. 4 ms to the sequencer for midi ...

Re: STS and windows RAM access
the latency for the vsti will be the same as the ulli setting times 2. in other words, if the latency is set to 4ms, you get an 8ms latency, which is nothing. mmm, the input midi latency is independent of ULLI, or I´m wrong? So really should be ULLI 1 time plus the input Midi latency what I think ...

Re: STS and windows RAM access
One question about kontakt, if is used as VSTi inside cubase, will suffer aditional latency as VSTi? or something related to the latency compensation that Cubase introduce to the tracks? Any advantage of use it as standalone? Have read about the Scope wave drivers high latency, but they are the ones ...

Re: STS and windows RAM access
Consider the use of Kontakt. Then, if U want, use i.e. softclip or similar in his rig to fatten his sound... STS seem to be a little old as concept (yes I know that's still a good instrument, but only for little banks suitable, not for huge instruments). yes, I know that, but I have already ...

STS and windows RAM access
To can allow STS load a 600mb piano I had to make a trick on msconfig. My T400 has 4GB of Ram. XP only sees 3GB (there is info on google I totally don´t understand about PAE). Question is that I got the low memory message with the 4GB laptop, but no on the old laptop with 1GB of ram. So i tried ...

Re: pci sxpansion
Nothing new, they solved your issue with the Atx version that only can be suplied by an Atx psu, it works but still can't make Sts sound and no app on windows receive midi. Intenal scope instrumens work fine unless Sts.

Re: pci sxpansion
The problem with midi is very strange because the PCI overflow issue of early Virtuavia "2 slots+external power supply" box was more dramatic: for audio and Scope OS! And was mainly a "power" issue. Midi is a ridiculous data stream... I think seriously that is a connection problem. If were a ...

Re: Multicore/dsp and latency. (setup options)
I think the i7 950 has the best price/performance ratio out of all Intel cpus. The i7 950 costs $299 and runs at a speed of 3.06GHZ. The i7 950 has 8 virtual-cores wich is alot of extra performance if your host supports hyperthreading/multiple-cores properly. I7 950 is on intels high-end socket LGA ...

Re: pci sxpansion
Use all your PCI slots of your PC for Scope and put all others boards (I don't know what you have: UAD, TCworks, Protools, firewire, USB3???) into Virtuavia that they works. In example UAD works very well (read UAD forums). This is my solution: i have only 3 PCI and 2 PCI-e: 3 PCI for 3 Scope and ...

I guess is this could have something to do with the midi problem?: http://technet.microsoft.com/es-es/library/bb457155%28en-us%29.aspx Gurus, I need you, :) I realized that STS gived me low memory message on my T400 with 4GB of RAM. Re: pci sxpansion
If you refer to the Scope Card cable, the cable is OK, it woks perfectly on the Magma and the desktop. Using virtuavia it freezes, then after some time STS enters in a soundloop. On Cubase, it may be some minutes without receiving midi, after some time it receives one note only, and stops again ...

Re: pci sxpansion
The ATX versione of Virtuavia should works, as for UAD and Protools boards (browse around web and musician forums for some good reviews). If the midi don't works but Scope OS works, maybe the problem is in your Y cable. http://www.virtuavia.eu/shop/full-package-pci-e-to-4-x-pci-expansion-atx-case ...

Re: Asio4all in Scope?
lagoausente, depends which you load in the project. I advise to always use the Wave 24bit drivers in Scope, and always load the amount of drivers as set in Windows' Device Manager > Scope driver properties. And don't worry, 16bit applications will use these 24bit drivers just fine, so for example ...

Re: Multicore/dsp and latency. (setup options)
Well, I tried Virtuavia Expresscard-PCi adapter, the ATX version that has not power limit and finally couldn´t get midi work and STS samplers don´t sound. I don´t know if the problem comes from the adapter or my laptop, but I decided to return it. So I´m going now for a desktop option. I had bought o ...
