thanks for the help. Beat was the first thing I laid down and built the track around, so never even considered getting rid of it. Will try out some of your suggestions and see how things turn out.

Great track, strong vocals. Loved the main snare - nice and snappy - just needed to vary it a bit (FX? note length? snare rolls?) on the outro, as it got a little stale with everything else muted. Nit-picking as usual, but everything else was spot on - loads of great detail in sound and arrangement ...
