Re: What to use until 64 bit

don't like it? sell your cards and buy something else, and please go post your thinly veiled marketing pitches somewhere where people will care.

really, people here have been whining for damn near a f* decade about anything, really anything available.

omg no osx support! even though apple hasn't ...

Re: -=Neutron=- Paradox

just tried this after re-installing my system + upgrade to scope5 etc. sounding pretty good so far! just one request, any way you can make the lfos' max frequency adjustable/higher than 150hz? getting some pretty nice sounds by manually setting them in the 1khz-5khz range but i can't save the patch ...

I just got Vista. I like it. It seems more pro. Now when I use Windows XP, I feel like I'm going back in time, as if I am using Windows 98 again. Vista is good. I went to burn a DVD today, no problem, The DVD burning software was integrated into the OS so I didn't have to look for it. There are ...

CPU usage climbs as ASIO latency falls. the lower the latency, the higher the CPU usage will be, since it has to service the ASIO buffers more often. it's an ASIO-specific thing more than a Scope-specific thing.

you don't mention anything specific, what you are sending where, what is loaded in ...

it's 32-bit xp vs 32-bit vista though, but pretty funny still. maybe in 5 years, when companies will have ported and optimized their huge codebase to 64-bit vista, it'll make some ...

you can't do much of a scientific test about it, since there is no formal/absolute description of what a perfet mix should sound like, or be done. the best you can do is compare the two mixes (native vs scope.)

you'll want to use a mix with everything (master, channels) set at unity gain to make ...

Anyway, 32-bit floating point can represent a 32-bit Iinear/integer value perfectly as 32-bit float has virtually unlimited headroom. For this reason it can make sense to record 32-bit float in i.e. Cubase via the ASIO FLT drivers (*).

um, standard IEEE floating point numbers have a 24 bit ...

sorry stige, what you say about 96khz is completely untrue. go read up on how DAC/ADC works, signal analysis theory, and sinc interpolation. converters don't use linear interpolation, and don't work the way you think they are.

sampling rate influences the frequency range that can be encoded and reconstructed.

if the material you record doesn't contain anything above 22050hz, using a sampling rate above 44.1khz isn't very useful. on the same converter, with such material, without processing, 44.1khz and 96khz will sound ...
