true - and if XTDM is anything like STDM, then there is no reason you couldn't an I/O expansion box focused on I/O rather than DSP - i.e. an XTDM version of the A16, which must have a lot more potential then zlink! :) All I'm saying, is if you are going to tie using the DSP to your interface, you b...

calling this a 4k 'interface' is not quite the right decription :-) if what you need is to record 24 tracks @ 96k there are many other cheaper options having said that it seems a shame not to include z-link for easy A16 expansion... It will use ASIO as a driver model, meaning you can only use one d...

It has 2 x ADAT in/out (16 channels) so I assume it will cope with ADAT SMUX 96K (8 channels) would be nice for a 4k interface to provide an option for more than 8 I/O's though. be great to see a "z-link" type connection(s) that SC could provide several different high samplrate multi I/O ...

Surley they did not omit higher samplerates?

(I have doubts about the validity of such responses especially when they are followed up with comments like "it only crashes every once in a while"). Not from me, no sence in calling us all liers Larry. Although there were alot of complaints about 6.2, 6.2.1 has basically been pre...

What happened to scope at messe?

I was told ( by one of the SonicCore guys) to be looking for an announcement at messe regarding Scope. Was John's synth the only thing announced?

Stevil wrote:speaking of sonar & scope... has the ASIO routing improved on the newer version of sonar? the 1L 1R 2L 2R mapping to 1 2 3 4 on the adat ins nonsence is really tedious.
Yeah Sonar now lets you have "friendly Names" for all audio and midi I/O's

Using 6.2.1 here. Very Solid. There have been users that have had issues though. Larry K is on here and he had a bunch of issues with Multi CPU engine and Scope . I have not seen any issues though. Sound like the MS C++ redistrib is getting hosed on your install. Not sure why that is. Have tried goi...

I don't come here that often, however, it is obvious to me that DAS shold be banned. This used to be a great place to converse all things Scope. Now it still is, but to a lesser degree. Between DAS calling users down to accusing them of theivery, one certainly can't have a conversation about 3rd par...

Well,
we need PCIe first coupled with OSX/ Vista drivers to even have a prayer of getting new users. I hope these are in the plans.
Craig, Thanks for the info. Do you use the Zalman cooling for the quiet, or were you having heat problems? It seems like those processors would be very low heat overall, so just wondering. And now for the barrage of questions: Do you use the samplers much? Is most of your ...

[ll my ranting aside, garyb is right , in that no piece of software will make you a better engineer or musician. Pick what works for you and go for it. Hey Jimmy,

Yes, using Sonar 6.2 at the moment. It nicely uses all 4 cores as it splits it's engine into as many threads as CPUs available. Working VERY well here.

i have all three and they're all good for something. i would never want to use sam for tracking/contruction. sonar and cubase are superior there for me. i love sam for certain audio editing features and for mastering a cd. use what you like, they all work fine. none of those companies are cool. he ...

There is a good crossgrade deal for switching to Samplitude right now. You might consider this option and get out of the political situation :) Good luck, Greg I think they all have great crossgrades for Steiny users right now :) I jumped on the Sonar bus. Glad I did. If they are not going to deliver, they should keep quiet. Yamaha at least never promisses you anything, thus disapointment is stiffled. Thats the difference.
