Re: New Computer build

Thank-you for your response.

Are there any chipsets other than the P45 that work well with Scope?

New Computer build

I am installing a Pulsar classic and a 6 dsp pro and am looking for info on chipset/mobo recomendations and a drill down for the OS. I've been communicating with Ralf(much appreciated) and am getting 4.5. I'd like to have both cards installed on a matx board. If someone wants to shoot down that idea ...

I was wondering if anyone new if the mix n' master plugs were included even if I don't have them now. I remember that things were sometimes a little sketchy concerning that. I was hoping somebody might know what I would get if I bought 4.5.

I appreciate your reply. I'm going to email the link you ...

3.0 user

I have 3.0 with a Pulsar 1 and a Pulsar II but without the mix n' master or the synth package. I do have the STS2000 and the Mod 2 add-on. I'm looking for the Scope 4.5 with the mix 'n mater package. Can anyone please offer me advice as to the least expensive route to go?

Thank-you,

Chris

I did an export non-XTC, and that worked well. How-ever the Master Insert section is still malfunctioning. Do you think that the Pulsar software needs to be re-installed also. I tried changing slots to get rid of pci overload. No slots other than 5 worked.

O.K. I've read the slams of dspdev and nicholas, but when you talk about mastering compressors, its the Manleys and other tube based units that aren't nuetral that get the raves and the use. Some people have giving glowing reviews to the mastercomp, while others rip on him for one reason or another ...

Doesn't the L1 have dither and noise shaping settings? What do you have those set at?

The wave-file is then processed with Waves C4 and L1 and after that dithered to 16 bits before it's rendered and burned to CD.
Do you dither during the C4 & L1 step or after it?

You should be able to get your source level high enough that hiss would not be an issue. Try making sure that your initial sound generating devices have there volume turned all the way up and proceed downsteam from there. At each gain point in your signal stream try to set the level as 'hot' as you ...

How is the back ground noise level when you actually plug something into it(something that has a good signal level)? It is quite common that an input that doesn't have anything plugged into it will pick up line buzz.
If your inputs are set to -10db, as refered to by subhuman, that also will manifest ...

Change IRQ of pulsar to 9 or 10.
