This is the non-Ultra version, so just 44.1/48KHz, 2 ADAT channels (no Zlink), 16 balanced analogue I/O, word clock I/O. £225. Will include a couple of 3-5m ADAT cables.

Like the Pulsar II's, I'd prefer to deal with someone in London (UK) for ease of sale.

Looks the same, but it may be slightly thinner (I'd have to measure down to the millimeter level I think). You actually gave me an idea with the foam - I've now got something between the 2 STDM connectors (the cards are in adjacent slots) that holds the top one in place and - touch wood, fingers cro...

With *both* cables I've got? And only on one of the cards? Sounds more like a problem with the card's connector to me - and don't see how I can wedge it with foam from the case without a hand that can move through metal :-)

2 Pulsar IIs, 2 different STDM cables. When using either cable, the connection to one of the Pulsars has a habit of working very, very slightly loose, at which point the Pulsar's won't sync digitally and using them is a non-starter until I've pushed the cable back on. The other Pulsar has no slippag...

It's now 6 months since I bought a Pulsar II second hand and despite numerous emails from the seller to Creamware (I've been cc'd), the registration still hasn't been transferred.

Purchasing Creamware Scope hardware secondhand is therefore *very* unadvisable at the moment.

Expect to wait ages if you do email them - I'm still waiting more than 4 months for Creamware to deign to reply to multiple registration transfer emails. Suggest including in the email that the card will be returned (ie. they lose money) if you don't hear back in a week or something and doing it. Vo...

I bought a second-hand P2 in October 2005 and despite numerous emails to Creamware from the seller and myself, I'm still waiting for the card to be transferred to my account.

Be warned when buying second-hand: Creamware's customer service is dire and will screw you over.

Er, just open the DSP Meter dialog and look at the numbers (click on the % sign to show the % of each DSP chip used).

2 * Pulsar II + Sync Plate AMD XP 3200+ ASUS nForce 2 (NF7 deluxe?) 1GB RAM Windows XP (no SP) With one STDM cable, I lose ~20-25% from 4 out of the 12 DSPs with nothing loaded (ie. ~1 DSP in total). With 2 STDM cables, I lose ~20-25% from 8 or 9 of the 12 DSPs with nothing loaded (ie. ~2 DSPs total...

When I used 2 STDM cables with 2 Pulsar 2's, the DSP usage went through the roof even with nothing loaded. Skipping back to a single STDM cable resolved this (and didn't cause any problems).

I blame the manual...

Brilliant (and phew!). All works fine - worked as you'd said with the Effects II and Mixer I packages, so I'm up and running now and don't need to wait for the transfer to complete.

Thanks again.

Thanks - what about things like the basic software/basic mixer package? Do I not need to worry about these (ie. they'll work on any board)?

I've had a Pulsar II for a year or so now - all fine. I recently added a second Pulsar II (second-hand) to the same system - works fine (thanks to suggestions from here to only use one STDM cable). I'm waiting for Creamware to do the full license transfer, but in the meantime I've got the keys for t...

Removing one STDM cable makes a *huge* difference to DSP load, so thanks for the suggestion (although my manual does show 2 * Pulsar II's connected with 2 cables in the diagram): I get approx one DSP back completely from doing this (spread across several chips of course). Even so, with a blank proje...

Like I said, this is with one wave source and one ADAT destination - nothing else at all. I'd say that's a pretty trivial project :-) Unfortunately, I can't share an IRQ between the Pulsars with this board as there's a capacitor under one of the slots that does share IRQs and it hits I/O part of the...

Just added a second Pulsar II to an existing Pulsar II with 2 STDM cables. Works fine (after a bit of hair pulling and getting them both to fit in the case) but... With just one Pulsar II (6 DSPs), a trivial project with one wave source and one ADAT destination takes roughly 6% on 5 of the DSPs and ...
