On a totally different note, how about the "Arrow"...as in "Bowen Arrow"!

Makes for a nice graphic, too!

News on the P-5 for noah.

I emailed a question about this to Creamware's Vancouver office last week, and received this interesting reply:

according to the last info we got from Ralf D. the Pro-12 for Noah
is 98% ready - major known bugs (if you may call them so)

It still says "profit ...

Rather than making any improvements, it sounds like Noah is going to be DISCONTINUED!! (See creamware site for info)...it's a damn shame.

They are selling the last ones as the "final edition".

Simple question: How do I change programs on the Noah remotely? Can someone tell me the LSB codes to go from pro-one to minimax to sixstring using only my master controller?

Much appreciated!!

Thanks Stefanh:

Your suggestions worked great! (once I updated to the latest Noah software) Now the Prodyssey is working fine - and it sounds very nice. Thanks for the help.

Stefanh:

Can you help me out? - I'm having trouble getting my Prodyssey installed into my Noah. I updated the OS and NRS, and then tried to install it - without luck. Any suggestions?

I called Creamware's service dept in Vancouver, BC. The fellow I spoke with did not know the answer to our preset conversion question, and said he'd have to ask the people at the German head office. I asked him to post the answers here on planet-Z.

Ok...I'll get to work on it. (Usually, I just play live in a 4 piece band or solo for my own enjoyment - I'm not much of a sequencing / studio kind of guy).

Since I'm new here, someone please tell me what format you want it in.

OK, I'll work on that...but it might take a while.

What do people want to hear first? Some MiniMax? Isolated patches, or used in a piece?

Usually, I'd play some ELP or Yes or some other complex bit, but those guitarists just frown and scratch their heads with a puzzled look on their faces....but when I play a classic Van Halen solo using the Noah's guitar sounds WITH ONE HAND...then they take notice and go, "Cool!"

Bump.....so does anybody know if there is an easy conversion method for minimax patches on sfp to be readable by the Noah?

Who has some tasty Noah patches they would like to share? Or if they're really good, sell?

Are there any SFP owners who also own a Noah that could help out by transferring some of the patches from one unit to the other, for instruments where programs (e.g. Minimax) exist for both the SFP and Noah ...

I don't consider myself an "electronic musician", I think of myself as a musician who sometimes uses electronic tools to achieve the goals and sounds I want.

The Noah is a great tool for live performance when I want that vintage analog synth sound. The other members of our 4 piece rock-n-roll cover ...

If that were the case, how would you perform "live"....one would still require a laptap, right?

Noah avoids the problems associated with having to lug a laptop computer to your live gig.

We just need CW to release everyone's favorite SFP programs in a Noah version, or write some conversion-type ...

Well, I can't compare it for you to the SFP (because I don't have that one), but I'm very pleased with the Noah. It rounds out my live rig - Yamaha motif rack, Kurzweil, PC2R and Voce V5 - very well. I use it for all the classic analog sounds - moog, pro1, etc. The sound quality is excellent ...

As a Noah owner, I was expecting more from the review. They didn't even mention the vocoder or filter modules, nor the six-string or prodyssey modules.

When the monophonic Moog Voyager came out, they raved about its sound quality. (I think the Noah is the sonic equal of the Voyager.) The Roland ...
