Look in sfpappxtc (dont remember exactly)folder. There is file IOenabler.exe. Run, and check "enable ASIO". Reboot.

Hi,
Also there is another method to migrate from 98 to xp. If you have more than one partition on HD, you can install on another partition (than 98) winXP and have dualboot system. And then only tune XP as needed and reinstall some of your programs, that need to be reinstalled.

I do not agree with bluemystic
If you want quality, you must always work with highest possible samplerate and bitrate.
And only in final processing before cd burning downsample to 44.1 and dither to 16 bit.
In that way you have much more better results, than working with 44.1khz only.

Dimitrios,
As you say, with RME you use Cubase, and with pulsar you use SFP mix. So I think you hear difference between cubase mix and SFP mix. And I found too, that cubase mix (especially SX1) sound different from SFP mix.

Most important is CPU, because 96khz use more than twice of CPU power, than 44.1 khz.
You can freeze some finished VSTi tracks to save CPU power.

This is winxp - SFP compatibility bug (CW know about it). For 24 bit use ASIO. Or in some cases specifical settings with wave24 can help, for example "24 bit alt" in wavelab.
Also win2000 have fix of 24 bit trunkating in kmixer driver. But i don't know, is that similar problem in xp too.

"Alt" meens alternative command set for wave drivers, because standard set has some limitations (or something like that

Try to switch ASIO to another driver (for example to ASIO directx full duplex) and then reopen project. Or set different sample rate and reopen. Once this helped for me in SX2 (but not helped in Nuendo 2).

Recently I found this info on ms site:
Kmixer Plays Only the Top 16 Bits of 24-Bit or 32-Bit Audio
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -US;308883
But this is regarding only win2000 with SP1 and SP2.

I use wave 24 bit source and dest with wavelab. In 24 bit alt mode recording and playing works fine.
If you have problems, try using ASIO drivers. They work fine too.
