Weird Panning Problem
I go thru Scope Pro ADAT via a MOTU u28 Mk II. When I use the MOTU audio outputs panning works fine. When I go through the Scope /MOTU ADAT, the right channel is silent. The meters on the Scope mixer shows the ADAT correctly. Cable connections are clean and light is bright both ways. Using a Mackie ...

"In The [APD] Shop we generally offer a reduced price on all products exclusive to The Shop. This is the “Current Price”, ($400) but why stop there? You can reduce the Current Price of anything you fancy all the way down to it’s lowest advertised “Base Price” ($79) (in many cases the original d...

Re: Windows 11
Seems like we're being held hostage with Win 10 at least. I expect more so with 11. All new Native Instruments stuff requires 10 (NI locked up all their new stuff including libraries and instruments), Adobe will also screw you. Others only run their VSTs on it only. I found this: https://atlasos.net...

Re: Sonic Core PCI Card Capacitor Replacement Service
Hi! Are you still doing this. I have 2 Pulsar2s that died. My Luna and Pro are fine for almost 24 years!!!!! Not really necessary but would like to get at least one of the Pulsars going. I would barter one of them for the repair if possible. I'm located in New Jersey. Thanks!

Re: What to do with spare 1U rack spaces
My racks are all pretty empty because of Scope and VSTs except for midi-patch panels, a KORG DSM-1, a Furman Volt Meter, and super quiet Behringer and Tascam Amps that run very cool. Just for giggles how much is it and how quiet is it. Anyone know. The website makes these details a mystery which tur...

Re: Wooden racks
I had a couple of built many years ago. They are not as nice as the one pictured. Mine were simple lacquered pine. Very strong. They still look new! Two hold 8 1Us. One holds 12. That one is still in use. Most of the equipment is gone as they were rack synths. It was great. Stackable. Put a mini-lit...

Re: Hardware synths vs Scope synths vs Software synths
Not being a party pooper but I just must have certain VST instruments and effects. I combine 2 machines. A very powerful one with 32 GB of RAM and SSDs with my DAW and VSTs and an HP XW4600 with 3 Scope Cards 8GB of RAM and 2 1TB Hybrid drives. They are connected via a MOTU ADAT/MIDI unit so they go...

Re: Man Or Myth......Zappa.
When I was in my senior year in college I had to do an essay on a composer of choice. Naturally, they were into classical and Schoenberg but I did mine on Frank Zappa. The class loved it. The Professor never heard of him. I did some cuts from "Freak-Out", "The Grand Wazoo" and he...

Re: serious problem pci card
your guess is only partially correct, as SonicCore cannot fix your card. it appears to be broken. it doesn't hurt to try cleaning the contacts. I think this is the best answer. I started experiencing similar problems on my Pulsar 2 intermittently. Then they became more frequent. I tried cleaning, r...

Re: Scope 7 driver BSOD
The whole issue is, that the ASIO driver and the Scope Xite system driver are not 64-Bit compatible. The specific call to the ASIo inquire 'number of channels' sends 32 Bit addresses to the sys driver, which fills only 32 bit data into the fields. As long as the app runs in the lower addresses (i.e...

Re: FOR SALE Creamware / Sonic Core Pulsar 2 DAW - Vintage Digital Audio Workstation
I am so heartened to see a system like this. It's as venerable and relevant today as the day it was built and before. My Luna Z-Link I/O died two years ago and I moved the lines over to ADAT but I'm very tempted for reasons of pure nostalgia. Sometimes I look at where it used to sit and just remembe...

Words to Ponder by Bill Evans
People tend to approximate the product rather than attacking it in a realistic, true way at any elementary level — regardless of how elementary — but it must be entirely true and entirely real and entirely accurate. They would rather approximate the entire problem than to take a small part of it and...

The ever clever mogul will probably record his whole rap on his iPhone or send it to his USSS guys live and they'll record it too. Can't wait to see the lip sync memes.

Re: External (non-Scope) tools of our trade
Here's a couple of goodies that I use for my B-3 setup in the studio. The Roland MKB-300 is a beast I got in 1986, new, that weighs a ton so it stays in the studio. The keyboard has a very Hammond feel. The mod wheel has adjustable depth and rise time which is fantastic for any kind of expressive in...
