well, i heard that if i want to have a better quality i better need to make my songs using 24 bits (or even 32 bits, i'm not sure) and then resample/dither the final mix to 16 bits and the quality will be better than if i worked with 16 bits from the beginning.

Is that right? Why is that? Do i need ...

"You have to watch out listening to any piece of music on a good equipment like yours - not to get your ears fooled "

yes, i know that. It's better to listen that on a cheap home audio or car audio to see that all instruments are audible because not many people have good audio equippment :smile ...

as i see this thread growed into general EQ discussion... that's nice.

To tell you the truth, equalization and compression is my very weak part.

I'm not experienced enough as sound engineer to hear what's good or bad (well, i can hear if the sound is good or bad, hehe, but i can't find the golden ...

well, if i was a pro and i would 100% know what i do - i would follow my taste and thoughts and make everything like i want.

But at this phase, when i'm in a learning phase, i think that it's probably better to stick with the original sound (as probably the samples were recorded and processed with ...

Samplaire: thanks for your input. I added you to my ICQ list, we're neighbours, I'm from Lithuania...

I just applied compression for the whole mixdown, no compression for the guitars alone. And I did not used a real guitar amp - just Amplitube plugin.

Reverbs: I just used reverb for drums ...

Do I need to put EQs on samples of such instruments like drums, cymbals, guitars, woodwinds, etc - the accoustic instruments, not synths or so.

I mean that if I'm making a song where only accoustic (or live, dunno how to call them) instruments are playing, should I apply additional EQs or it's ...

And the strange thing is that when the part where almost all tracks are playing at the same time (and it should be using the most CPU ...
