Re: Cool Gear PCI to PCI Expansion

I'd like to recommend MSI B350. I have a Tomahawk Arctic which has two PCI slots and gives 13 Masterverbs. I think it's from 2018, but together with a Ryzen5 CPU it gives you enough power for your DAW. Be sure to have the mainboard updated to the last version, otherwise you cannot use the newer Ryze...

Re: New Modular Concept

(Back from holidays :P)
Thanks for testing Ron.
The restriction to only eight Sounds was only to save space (and time to design a different layout).
When more Modules are available I'll redesign the Master Module to have more Sounds slots for sure.

Re: New Modular Concept

Second NMC patch. Again with just a bunch of Modules, but this time with Macros. -You cannot assign every parameter to a Macro, just the blue-ish ones. -To assign a parameter to a Macro, open the Module's panel. -Little boxes on the Module surface give you a hint whether it is assigned or not. -On M...

Re: New Modular Concept

Good idea! Next version will have Macros :) A bit complex to program but worthwhile. On Soundselector (now called Master) you'll have four new controls which can affect a variety of parameters. Like, control cutoff, lfo speed and Q with just one single knob (bidirectional). Or, simpler: control Cuto...

Re: New Modular Concept

Unfortunately I've used an outdated Delay control module when I made the patch (wrong delay times except @48kHz SR). I've corrected it and uploaded the patch again. Sorry! But thanks for replying! If you've got any improvement proposals, please let me know. I already see some room for improvement in...

New Modular Concept

http://www.cwmodular.org/pics/NMC_FmPatch.png This is a prototype patch of what I'm - admittedly cocky - calling New Modular Concept. What I'm aiming here is - having better usability. Instead of having a confusing mass of Modules attached to cables, only vital control elements as well as a browser...

Re: ScopePro inactive after starting Scope software

Exactly. And once it's working, it's working flawlessly.
But maybe a sign for aging caps?

Re: ScopePro inactive after starting Scope software

I've got Win XP, Win7 64, and Win7 32 bit; unfortunately it shows the same behaviour with all OSs.
But, as I said, after some minutes Scope wakes up and (still?) works.

Re: ScopePro inactive after starting Scope software

the s/tdm message is the only error you get? Yes, and only after some minutes. Before that, Scope software is loading properly but Dsp meter is showing zero activity. it should be done by someone with the skill and equipment to solder surface-mount components... I know a tech guy who could probably...

Re: ScopePro inactive after starting Scope software

Reseating the card and cleaning PCI contactsa didn't help.
I didn't see any obvious damage but I'm no technician at all:

ScopePro inactive after starting Scope software

After 5 to 6 minutes it shows 'Missing STDM connection'. After restarting Scope everything works perfectly. I've already thoroughly cleaned the connections between the cards (Scope Pro and Pulsar II). Also, after removing the Pulsar card, Scope Pro still doesn't work, so I think the STDM cable is no...

Re: Bill Evans: Words worth repeating

My luck was that when I was a kid my brother bought a lot of Jazz albums, and some of them ended up in my own record collection when he moved out :D

Re: Patchbays

There's only way to find out: test it and look at the dsp meter, which I did. Its Labour day, isn't it? :) http://www.cwmodular.org/pics3/DspComparison.png I measured dsp load of STM 2448 vs. CWmix, both connected and unconnected. It's an apples/bananas comparison though as STM cannot deactivate cha...

It's actually quite simple.
Make async connections with this UP Module to see how it's done.

Re: Patchbays

Yes theres a module to check if a module is connected but i understand in Modular you cannot connect modules programmatically, only by hand on mouse. The Sdk module I mentioned isn't able to connect something itself, it only recognises if something is connected or not, i.e. gives 1 if connected, 0 ...

Re: Win 7 slow scope startup

It's on a SSD, and there are four partitions in total.
Everything works, it's just Scope taking unusual much time to load on startup.

So, your SCOPE load time is still slow now ? I haven't tried it but I'm sure nothing has changed. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4550964/windows-7-update-kb4550964 'Security updates to Internet Explorer, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Kernel, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, ...
