I decided to switch to an rme hammerfall dsp multiface.
My pulsar is not sold or dumped yet, so maybe when I have time I'll look at it again...

A few days went by...
The problem is clearly NOT solved.
Still random crashes.
It can work for hours, then suddenly crash.
when a crash occurred i tried the following (always followed by clicking 'Slave' ant then 'Master' in Samplerate Settings):

-pull out the z-link cable to the luna box, plug it ...

The card has been stable for a few hours now, and I can reproduce the crash by jerking the z-link firewire cable. I think the contacts are worn out on the board as well as the luna box.
Tomorrow I'll also get a new firewire cable.
Now I hope that at least I have pinpointed the cause of the problems ...

I found at least one reproducable problem:
the z-link cable that connects the luna box to the pulsar io plate is very sensitive to movement. I suspect bad contact.
I now connected the grounding of the two (pulsar and lunabox) with an extra cable and as a result the ...

ok, third crash, almost 2 hours later.
this time: one click in the speakers, 30 seconds nothing, then again crackle noise galore!
this time when I lever the pulsar board nothing happens.
I unplugged the luna box, plugged it back in, the noise has stopped but the master meters of the STM mixer keep ...

wow, second time in less than an hour now.
no message this time, only crackling noise out of the speakers.
manually bent the board up and down in the slot,
back to normal again.

clean the contacts again ?

It's been a while since I visited this forum, and also I haven't used my Pulsar for a while.
I want to reinstall it now, but I can't find my CD anywhere.
My allkeys.skf file doesn't work with the new Scope 4.0 installer.
Is it meant to be like that ?

I'll try to add in just a few quick things, as I should be doing something else at this moment and I didn't read everything yet.

First off all, I admit It ...

card: pulsar II 6 dsp's
works for a few days then stops working, have to install software again, over and over to make it work again.
cleaned contacts, done that no solution.
restart computer no solution.
this is already going on for months and now and then I start trying to put it to use again ...

I have no signal from the synths in the mixer.
I connect my Pulsar to Z-Link (Luna box).
The midi monitor just shows the note-on/note-off events like it should.
It seems like everything is normal except that the synths dont make any sound.
(I had this before a long time ago, and I could fix it then ...
