How is anyone able to get XTC mode to work in Cubase SX2 w/ the delay compensation activated?

It just does not seem to work w/ Pulsar XTC and causes Cubase's audio playback to distort significantly.

I do not see how XTC mode is an option in Cubase SX2 with the delay compensation option activated, because it causes Cubase to slow down to a screeching halt.

I have the Pulsar XTC w/o I/O and it flat out does not work for me.
