you mean you have completely disconnected the usb-midi-controllers from the pc and the freezing continues? Yes maybe you can contact someone who is running the p5k without any problems and watch what´s different. use the search function in this forum. I will, but as i need all 3 PCI slots, i have n...

Both - Its not enough with an usb cable - no signals, so i think USB is for drivers and power, while it transfere the midi signals through midicabel. And yes i have tried with no midi at all. I think the problem is PCI-E and PCI are hardwired together. Realteak supersoundcard disabled :D BITE THE DU...

a sad moment - filtering out the active sensing was pure joy for only 2 minutes :-) That means - i will order a new MB and in the meantime i can use Audition 1.5 It looks like the 2 main datashops in Trondheim does not have Intel MB. So it might be postorder - by i will do some more research. Good w...

I'll check active sensing tomorrow, garyb

With all tweaks so far, it took about 14min before it crashed again.
So tomorrow i will try without any midi, if its still bad i think i gonna remove at least 2 of the cards. If it still behave bad, i might install Winxp in std mode.

other ideas?

I found on Steinbergweb:
Set Processor scheduling to background services
(witch i did, but on wrong PC - on this  ) - i'll try it on the other one.

The screen stalls, no mouse or keyboard reaction, sound is choped (approx 2 bop a second) , there is no cpu spike and VU meters on both Cubase and Scope works as normal :D - but its the only bormal thing too. Don't seems Windows count...

not too good - it just crashed after a couple of minutes, so i will update all programs and plug-ins to be shure there is no license error.

If its still the same - i think i will disconnect 2 of the soundcards and try from there.

SATA is set to IDE

From BIOS:
PCIE Spread Spectrum - AUTO/DISABLED (it is set to AUTO)
FSB Strap to North Bridge - AUTO/200MHz/266MHz/333MHz (is set to AUTO)

As pointed out, i ran Melodyne for almost 2,5 hours, then i started Cubase with a new project - imported a couple of wavefiles - and i let it run for a little over 1 hour. Now i changed Scope project to the one i used when the crashes appeard and opened Cubase again -...

Melodyne has been running for almost 2, 5 hours so i suspect Cubase is the source of this problem.
