Actually alot of the technology in Sam (Audio Engine) has been used in music maker . Sams use of objects is amazing and I generally mix using them instead of the mixer, Tip sibilence on one word, create an object of the offending word and use the multiband comp (1 band) to reduce the "sss...

Samplitude has certainly gone through lots of hard times, being sold to different companies and all. I'm not sure I know what you mean, Magix has always "owned" Samplitude, the same developers have been working on Sam since the Comodore64 days, they have been given the run around with dis...

STW's Mastering Compressors and Vintage EQ's have so few parameters that preset lists were considered redundant. Same goes for the Transient Attacker and Transient Designer. Who decided all this? :???: and if that is the case... the "feature" should be removed completely. I don't often ma...

a free update? sounds good.

this follows the pattern of all the other upgrades i have seen since v1.2.....
sounds good to me.
And if all v4.0 does is fix the bugs I'd still be happy :cool:8)

Thanks Kenf, Immanuel is right STW is'nt CW but we have all been around long enough and the rule seems to be the same though.
Only way to get anything fixed is to make a loud enough noise- anyone care to join in?

Hi Kenf, I don't use XTC mode only "normal",
I've tried it in all different configurations, as an insert and as a free standing device.
I guess not many people use a mono source much or don't use mono vintagEQ often, it's all I seem to use these days.

Thanks

Hi all does anyone have problems saving/recalling presets with the mono eq's. I find that the gain and 2x switch are all that get saved, all the other settings- freq, Q, and filter type get missed. And the compare feature, well that's hardly a feature  I've emailed STW about this but I'm waitin...

Oh, here's a thought. Use "ghost or "drive image" to take snapshots of your system as you build it up. I've got one of my tweaked OS, just plain with no s/ware and when I get it all installed and running great make another image. That way you can experiment with demo apps/devices and ...

Well, with the v7.11, MIDI editing features are not so bad, even if not complete as with Logic or Cubase. That's why I thought I could talk about Samp in this topic Hi Grok, Yes Sam's MIDI has come along way but it still isn't as feature rich as some of the more dedicated sequencer apps. And yes it...

Can't talk about PC's DAWs without talking about Samplitude Professional; this soft is for "pro" works, imo it's actually the best sounding native application (because of some technical points). Yes Sam is the best, But this fella is looking for a sequencer. Sams sequencing features are i...

Maybe this is old news, but I just found out that Samplitude was once bought by emagic
Samplitude was never bought by Emagic, all they had was a distribution deal.
And they couldn't keep that going either

Hi Omb

If you format a drive with this command:
format x:/z:64 where x= drive letter
you will increase cluster size to 32kb
with a FAT32.
Since audio file are so large your not going to loose much space with the bigger cluster size

hope this helps

Oh, Win98 (and Win2k if I remeber well) is limited to 8 (or 10?) MIDI ports. Win98 can handle a few more than 10 ports I'm currently using an 8x8 patchbay + 4 CW midi I/O devices, oh and Hubi's Midi LB, so that's 13 - never tried more I can't say enough about 98lite though it's perfect for a DAW IM...

Boldly going where no man has gone

I dunno At0mic, Control voltage is a lot more than Audio signal. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't CV around 5volt, I doubt an audio signal would do anything unless you crank the s#t out of it and that may open a whole set of other problems.
