£550 isnt bad.. hoping for more!

Hi all,

Used to work in a London Creamware dealers and the UK distributor supplied my an NFR Pulsar 2 card. (Not for resale, marked as NFR on in black on the card so dealers cant sell to public,otherwise same as standard card.. sold as a promotional card with lots of plug-ins.)
No longer work for ...

I have a Pulsar 2 on PC, and I`m thinking of buying a Mackie D8B and want to run 24 channnels of audio from my PC back into the mixer! I`ve been told that the Mackie cannot recognise the word clock in the ADAT source and requires a seperate clock source into the apogee clock card!

I have a pulsar 2 running in XTC with logic platinum under windows 2000 pro, not the best of configs but works fine usually!

When working on some mixes today I tried some new plug-ins and Logic crashed... now when I load all my mixes into logic, for some reason it sounds mushy and if I hadnt ...

For some reason my pc doesnt recognise my C: drive when I start it up with a windows 98 startup disk! I dont know how to get into dos mode any other way to fomat my C: drive! (Need to reinstall from scratch to clear some issues with plug-ins)

Any suggestions?

Worked a charm... got bullet proof audio without clicks... The DMA wasnt checked in the right box for any of my hard drives .... also found the disable function in the BIOS for the USB..... (tried reloading the drivers for them and it still wasnt having it!!!)

So I am now very ...

How do I know if DMA is active for my hard drives...????

I have recently bought an ABIT BE7-RAID...

I am interested to know if anyone else is using raid arrays for audio? How are you config it? are you using 2 drives as one for audio or is it better to run the array on the system drive?

How noticeable is the performance increase?

Is it worth the hassle ...

I have recently changed from a P3 450mhz to a new P4 2.4.... HOWEVER...

For some reason even using the same hard drive for audio the b***** keeps clicking... for some reason if I copy the entire audio pool from the Audio Window into another folder it works fine again ...

Hi...
I am running two opcode midi translator pc`s giving me a total of four midi output ports.... logic only wants to recognise ports 3&4 and doesnt recieve any midi input at all... I have tested the interface and its fine... runs ok with cubase on all ports in and out.. reinstalled logic ...

Tried Screen resolution...... doesnt seem to help ?????
