well I'm happy to say swapping the Pulsar & SCSI worked - Pulsar has its own IRQ now.

Will work on the rest later, made a good start though. Thanks for helping me.

Thanks for your reply Marcuspocus.

I checked the cards' IRQs in device manager and the SCSI card is on IRQ5 and the Pulsar, NIC, and AGP cards are on IRQ 11. USB has IRQ 10. COM ports are disabled in the BIOS.

If I swapped the SCSI and Pulsar, that would give Pulsar its own IRQ (5) and all the ...

I have taken subhuman's advice about making my Win2K system a standard PC instead of ACPI.

I have 3 PCI cards in my system: my Pulsar1, a NIC and a SCSI card for my old 2x CDR writer (I really must upgrade that). Also I have a GeForce2 AGP card.

remixme, I just said all that stuff to sound like I know what I'm doing :wink:

and yes my cable does have a moulded plug so I have to be teknikal

my pulsar is a Pulsar 1 basic, but I'll post a pic of that if you want ? lemme know

Thanks dbmac, please post that. I'll use your schematic, plus I'll "reverse engineer" my pulsar cable with a multimeter. Hopefully I'll get all the info I need.

Hi,
Does anyone have or know where to find the spec for the break-out cable that plugs into a Pulsar 1 ? I want to make one with longer cable lengths.
