i don't think translator or any program does giga to akai, i've looked for something that does it but found nothing

i think it's useful to know that XP can work with tweaking as you said, and before an upgrade, that win98se is still better for the one who doesn't like to tweak too much.

the expander is the contrary of a compressor : instead of lowering dynamics at a certain treshold, it raise dynamics. My typical use is synth percussions, or if i want more dynamics. You would also add a compressor after an expander to avoid overload or to limit/compress.

it seems that you don't need a pre-amp ?
so you still have the compression and equalizer of the MQ3. not sure you need that with all the things you have .

the best bug with EPS 16+(R) happens when running a sequence, then pressing "like mad on i don't know what buttons" in disorder etc on the interface : this might create some really cool electronic sound pattern. almost better than Rd2D2 :smile:

i'm new to STS and find it hard to make loops in it. finding the loop point etc...
I'm talking about strings, pads etc, not drum loops.

I'm not experienced with looping in STS but it seems pretty hard (compared to my EPS 16+r, that i still use: it's incredible how it sounds so much better now plugged into pulsar....).

Well, i used to record bass from an amp but that was long time ago, when recording were not digital.
Now i have a friend who want to record some tune in my sytem. I cannot use an amp for neigborhood reasons. Moreover, i'm not shure i'll get a better sound with a bass amp ...
