Hey there,
If you do want a motherboard with support for modern CPUs and native >1 PCI slots, you seem to be best off with industrial motherboards. (See multiple threads in the "Tech Talk" section.)
Alternative is to use PCIe->PCI adapters, see recent thread for this.
Final option is to use a ...

Ah - that explains things.garyb wrote: Sat Apr 12, 2025 1:32 am the STS problem is because STS uses system memory. there, 64bit makes a difference. but in the Z-Link case, Window has zero involvement.
Scope itself is a 32bit application.

Re: Luna 2496 I/O box woes
Maybe you can get a key for SCOPE 5.1 from S|C to check if that makes a difference.
That's certainly route.
Thankfully, I have a 5.1 key for Pulsar board.
But I am running out of spare machines with PCI slots.
All my machines are v7 now, and unstalling v7, installing v5.1, then re-establishing ...

Re: Luna 2496 I/O box woes
64bit has nothing to do with Scope, only how Scope connects to Windows. Scope is actually the gui and controls for the dsps, Windows is not really involved.
Ok, but then I am confused.
Why did the STS-modules stop working (well) on 64-bit versions of SCOPE?
Was this a deliberate decision from SC ...

Re: Luna 2496 I/O box woes
Moved a Luna to a different machine (DELL T3500), and connected everything.
Exactly same behaviour, unfortunately:
- 2496 box LEDs flashes when computer boots.
- Z-Link A is on in the samplerate Settings window.
- Audio plays fine over the Luna D/A.
- Opening Luna Z-Link Destination brings the same ...

Re: Luna 2496 I/O box woes
if it happens with a NEW hdmi cable, the last ditch try is to rerun the Scope installer(over the top). that would fix a bad file.
Tried two different FireWire cables, same result.
They are not new, but they did work last time used.
otherwise, i think the Luna box may be broken.
Understood ...

Re: Luna 2496 I/O box woes
Disconnect the Luna box and then route some mixer IO to the Z-Link source destination.
(to verify if Z-Link is supported at all)
Works fine, no errors.
Refine by using another mixer with the same procedure.
If the error remains, at least you know the Luna box probably isn‘t the main reason ...

Luna 2496 I/O box woes
Hello,
I am trying to test whether a Luna 2496 I/O box is still working.
It has not been connected to anything for years, so I am trying to see if it still works.
I dug out a Creamware machine from storage, and hooked the box up to the Z-Link port on a Luna board.
Everything starts up fine.

Re: WTB: any CWare pci card with Z-link + 8ch LUNA I/O box
Hey there,
did you find a solution to your needs?
I do happen to have a Luna I/O box and 3-DSP card I can sell you (and I am within the EU, so your middleman-model should work).
Just to clarify: Do you need
1) just he Luna I/O box,
2) 3-DSP LUNA board + I/O box, or
3) 3-DSP LUNA board w. working ...

Good morning to everyone, wanted to know if there is an update to scope7. Thank you. Claudio

I.e.
1) an update compated to what? What version do you look for an update to?
2) Why do you need an update? Are you looking for a fix to ...

I have one card, "Pulsar 2". It's just a translation error 😇. Sorry about that. I used this card as my main sound card.
Ok, the details unforuntately often get lost in translation.
I don't want to bother you any longer. Therefore, if I manage to fix it, great. If not, so be it. Thank you for ...

Re: Creamware Pulsar 2 2024
I believe one of the cards is damaged because the errors appear on both the new computer and the old one with XP, specifically with the connection to dsp1, etc.
As for the PCI slot for the Pulsar, one is enough.
Erhm...
It seems now that you have two boards.
Are they both Pulsar 2s?
Then you ...

Re: Creamware Pulsar 2 2024
If this is the correct capacitor, there won't be any problem with the replacement.
Before you recap your board, please consider the software aspect:
SCOPE 3.1c is really old, and will not work with even ancient Windows versions (the drivers are not compatible):
The software may work on XP (not ...

Are there any services that buy "damaged Pulsar 2 cards"?
Not to my knowledge.
But then again, I am just a fringe user...
There are probably other components on this card and cables attached to it that can be used. To be honest, for the price of the software for Scope v7, I can get a new audio ...

DSP power consumption / heat generation when idle
Hi Guys,
Q: how much power does the DSPs on the PCI boards use when SCOPE has not been loaded?
One of my machines with SCOPE boards is also my main SW development machine, which means that SCOPE on that machine may sit idle for days.
I know the boards (and the SHARCs on them are late-90's ...

Re: PCI SLOTS Motherboards
DFI still offers PCI, too.
https://www.dfi.com/product/index/1628
Yes.
But it does look like the DFI has a bunch of capacitors sitting at the front of the PCI slots, which would very likely interfere with the "low-rider" profile of SC boards like Pulsar 2 and Scope Pro.
The Asrock, on the ...

Only thing can think of is perhaps something on my scope pro card is faulty. Cant test home card by itself since all my keys on the pro. Or the other possibility is this issue exists for everyone and i somehow didnt notice in the past.
