Re: Linking the audio part of two Scope machines - ADAT or Z-Link?

Ok, sounds good. I have two cards with ADAT (Pulsar II and a Luna w. ADAT board), so that's a clear possibility. But I have four cards with a total of 5 Z-Link connections, so that's a viable alternative. I seem to remember that both do 8 channels of Audio, but the Z-link does duplex, whereas ADAT i...

Linking the audio part of two Scope machines - ADAT or Z-Link?

What is the preferred way to link two separate machines, ADAT or Z-Link? I have cards enough for two machines, and I figure I would use one for synthesis, the other for mixing and effects. Or something like that. Should I transfer audio over ADAT or Z-Link? Are there any latency or routing capabilit...

Re: First sound card.

My first "add-on" sound generator was an Acorn Music 500 digital synthesizer for the BBC Micro (model B). I acquired it in 1985, I believe. And IIRC, it had 16-voice wavetable synthesis, ~48KHz sample rate, but no filters. Still have it somewhere in the outhouse, along with the BBC Micro. ...

Re: Masterverb Test Thread

Aaah. I was reading the v4.1 paper manual I had lying about from back when...
Although I did manage to reassign the board-order, I'll stop fiddling with the cset.ini if it makes no difference :)

Re: Masterverb Test Thread

Yes, lot's of PCI slots (and seemingly also performance). Unfortunately, the PCB designer at A-Bit chose to put the audio chip next to PCI slot 3 (red circle). IC7_MB_extract.png And apparently, the audio chip needs Electrolyte Capacitors just next to the chip sticking up from the board. And a front...

Re: Masterverb Test Thread

Interesting... I have an old A-bit IC7 Intel 875-based pentium-4@2.8GHz machine w. 5 PCI slots. Currently populated with a Pulsar II + 2 x Luna (3 cards, 12 DSPs total). Machine is running Win XP 32-bit (it's a 32-bit CPU!), no internet. Scope 5.1. I can run 15 Masterverbs before running out of DSP ...

Re: AKA LPK25 as USB-input w. SCOPE 5.1 on Windows XP?

Well - I gave it a spin on the Scope host machine, but failed to make it work... Unfortunately, XP claims that "Ocean Swift MIDI Router.exe" is not a valid windows executable. And quite expectedly, the "Ocean Swift MIDI Router (64).exe" won't run - i presume is 64-bit exe (my XP ...

Re: AKA LPK25 as USB-input w. SCOPE 5.1 on Windows XP?

Faxinadu released a little tool to do this within Scope without requiring a DAW. https://forums.scopeusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=35754 Ah! Sounds very much like "just what I need". (I could also dig out my old Steinberg disks from somewhere, but it's not quite up-to-date anymore......

garyb wrote: Fri Aug 07, 2020 6:24 am no. you need to go through software to do so. both Scope and the usb device use a driver to communicate. drivers can only talk to software, a driver cannot speak to a driver.
Ok, understand. Thanks.

AKA LPK25 as USB-input w. SCOPE 5.1 on Windows XP?

Apologies if this is well known subject, but some searching didn't bring a specific answer up. I'm having problems getting a USB class compliant MIDI keyboard (AKAI LPK25) to work with SCOPE v5.1 on Windows XP (yes, I know - but it's 32-bit, stable, works great on the older PC, etc). My question is:...

Re: STDM busses and connectors - which to use?

Very well. I am currently using one cable with two connectors. I shall make a new cable with three connectors, then. (Although technically, the connectors don't quite align physically on the PII and Lunas - so the cable cannot be "flat" and straight between the boards as in "neutron's...

STDM busses and connectors - which to use?

Hello, I have a question about STDM busses and what to connect where: I have a Pulsar II + 2 x Luna cards. The Pulsar has two STDM buss connnectors (and I therefore assume supports two STDM busses). Does it make sense to connect one card to the first connector, and the other to the second connetor? ...
