Hi all! Is there something wrong with
the Behringer preamps like Behringer T-1953
Tube UltraGain. Their prices seemed to have dropped from 850 € to 250!!! Is it a great deal or are the dealers trying to get rid off them quickly and save their own a**.

If someone has tried one please share ...

There's no latency issues in GAM or at least I haven't noticed any problems. I've been recording a lot of DI guitar stuff with different setups since I got the GAM. I never use it alone but it's the last "effect" on my signal chain and it is truly magical in taming the DI sounds.

You can easily use ...

Can someone give more details about the Roland/Edirol PC180A? How much should I pay for a new one and how good it actually is?

Thanks!

Can anyone recommend any really cheap midi keyboards? My main instrument is guitar and I only want to use the synths for some additional colors here and there in the songs. Are there any affordable ones that will get the job done?

I had problems with Pulsar midi out so I had to buy a Midisport 2x2. I only use the midi connections for J-station and Alesis SR-16. At first I was worried about the USB thing but I haven't had any timing problems so it must be working well.

GAM or any other modelling device I've tried can't cut it on their own. If you just put the guitar straight into the analog inputs there's no way you can get a strong distortion sound.

I think that one always needs tubes somewhere in the signal chain with guitars. Of course a real amp always sounds ...

Nestor: I have a Jackson KV-2 guitar with Seymour Duncan Custom SH-5 pickup. From there the signal chain is Yamaha TB-01 Tone Booster -> Mesa Boogie V-Twin tube preamp -> J-Station -> Pulsar SPDif input -> GAM. I just bought Celmos X-machine and it works great as a compressor for guitar tracks.

I ...

Thanks for the info! So basically the MQ1 just takes space on my computer when compared to the "standalone" versions. I first thought that it was connected to PCI and has it's own drivers. That would explain why it comes with a CD. Anyway, now I think I'm gonna have a look at the MQ3...

A beginner's question: If I buy and install the Joemeek MQ1 how do the input interfaces show on the Pulsar software?
If anyone uses the MQ1 with Pulsar could you give some information on how to set it up and how much the MQ1 effects your input signal when compared to the Pulsar regular inputs. I've ...

I bought the X-machine and GAM after trying them out. Great sounding devices! I mainly play guitar so the synths have to wait. GAM works well together with J-station and it can even hold together an output signal from a tube preamp. Wonderful! Thanks Celmo!

Yes, it's an amazing device! I tested the demo and in my opinion it is far better than Line6 Pod and I'm now really starting to question the quality of the J-station as well. Too bad that there's only one distortion type in GAM. I'm gonna order the full version soon. Can you guys suggest any other ...

Thanks for the replies! I think I'm gonna buy it cause if I don't like it I can always sell it and maybe even get more than I've paid. I'm a guitarist and I only need bass to record "guide" tracks when writing songs. I've been using sequenced bass synths but they don't really fit with my ...
