I'm going to be purchasing IK Multimedia's Miroslav Philharmonik shortly which comes with an IKEY licensing system - basically a USB key.

I understand it is the same system used for the most current version of Cubase.

I was always expecting various sequencers/hosts to take the lead in implementing support for alternative scalings and other microtonal wonders.

I know Muzys implemented microtonal support but I don't know how many others did. I also don't know how effective these kinds of implementations are.

I'm not sure what host you've got, but there is a VST plug-in from Tobybear called Microtuner. You download it as part of his Midibag products.

If your host supports VST midi, this may be handy for you.

Microtuner supports SCALA, VAZ and Anamark tuning files.

I decided a while back to make my CPU my sampling mayhem playground and use various VSTi sampling devices.

And then Creamware would take on some of the synths and all the DSP and mixing.

I've mentioned it numerous times that I really don't get that people ask for innovative synths (and not the 105th vintage fake) that the Python gets so few attention.

The Orion host has an inbuilt generator that does something similar and does allow you do use your own wavetables as long as they conform to certain rules like samplelength etc..

Solaris seems to me a beast of a synth and sometimes you don't want a beast. But you already have Minimax which is a high quality, less complicated synth. It seems fairly immediate which is something ...
