I use a Roland XV3080 and there is no noise
at all going through the Powersampler's
converters.

Programming wise, using the synths front
panel can sometimes be less intuitive than
using a software editor (only with knobless
synths)

The downside of a software editor is that
the best one is sold by ...

Nice one, this might come in handy for any other Logic user's crossing to Mac.There's
no way I'd ditch my cards for a mac otherwise

BTW, even tho I'm thinking of going to Mac
eventually, it was still a shitty move by
Apple (understatement of the year).
What can you do? Its happened before (Atari ...

Cheers for the replies, I'm running a
Pulsar 1 and Powersampler.I didn't fancy ditching 3 DSP cards (UAD as well)just
for crossing over to a mac.I won't be doing
this for at least a year yet, but its nice to
know, thanks again.

The whole Emagic thing has got me thinking,
obviously the cards are the same for Mac and
Win, can I just get Mac version of Pulsar
software from creamware or is the software
key tied to the OS the card was bought with?
I'm not planning on moving to a Mac anytime
soon, but when the time comes, I'll ...

Nestor, you mentioned ghost.
Yup, the best way is to still re-install
win98, and then create an image of this fresh install with ghost. You don't install ghost to the HD, you just use it on a floppy.

One tip with using ghost tho, make images as you go along during the re-install.Make one straight ...

I have 2 HD's, the first is a dual boot,
one for music, one for everything else.
The third partition is a backup for files.

The second HD has an audio partition (32k clusters).Samples and song data also have their own partitions.

Instead of re-installing from scratch every
10-12 months I just ...

Yo DXL, I've got 2 CW board's and a UAD.
I like them both.
If I had make a choice between either of them
it would be Pulsar everytime.
For the money it does a lot more than the UAD.

Overall, yeah the MPX ain't outstanding, the hall, chamber and room setting's are metallic, hissy and not very nice.I do like the Plate's tho, just my opinion, each to his own.The no. of plug's increasing latency only happen's on return's and master out's.
Using track insert's there's no problem as ...

I've had the UAD installed about 4 day's now.
No conflict's between Pulsar and UAD.
Logic 4.8.1 supports DSP board latency compensation, find it under Audio>Audio preferences. For some reason I have to activate this each time,
saving with it checked makes no difference.

There is latency on Logic's ...

Try layering the outputs from 2 or more synths, one of the best combo's Ive found is the bluesynth(hummel version), UKnow (hummel mod or MW?)Zarg comb and the saturn.
Fat as a fat thing.
If you don't have the DSP's to spare, have different projects for layered synths,
sampler, mixdown etc. or sample ...
